IMPACT survey results released

The results of the New Zealand IMPACT survey were released at Parliament in early July, in conjunction with Sam Sword's photographic exhibition.

The event was hosted by Scott Simpson MP and attended by Associate Minister of Health Todd McClay and the new CCNZ patron, Lady Mateparae.

Guests were updated on recent research conducted by Assoc. Professor Richard Gearry, that New Zealand's rate of IBD is one of the highest in the world.

 

New Zealand IMPACT survey highlighted on national news

TV3 Firstline news coverage highlighted the results of the New Zealand IMPACT survey, following its release at Parliament on 2 July.

The survey was conducted over 12 months and highlights the need for early diagnosis and improved knowledge of the disease.

Sam Sword's personal story - the IMPACT of IBD

Christchurch photographer Sam Sword, shared his journey with Crohn's disease at Crohn's and Colitis NZ's 'Join the Fight Against IBD' function at Parliament.

His powerful images provided a human backdrop to the results of a year-long survey looking into the impact of IBD on the lives of New Zealanders.

Sam expresses his thoughts and the emotions behind each photo in this You Tube clip.

Sam's exhibition will be on public view at Parliament until 17 July.
