Crohns Colitis Auckland
About our Support Group
Crohns Colitis Auckland is run by volunteers to provide information and advice to people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), their family and friends.
We hold 4 public meetings annually and publish 4 newsletters each year for members. We also have a library of books on IBD that are available to members.
Our volunteer team is available by email or by leaving a message on our answer phone. If you would like to talk to someone who has been through similar treatment or surgery to yourself; we can put you in touch with someone who is willing to provide Information, advice or support.
We have social functions and are open to new ideas from members for different activities.
We can access information from doctors and nurses who help us answer your questions.
Our meetings are usually attended by IBD experts - gastroenterologists, IBD nurses and other health professionals who speak on the different aspects of IBD management, treatments, nutrition, etc.
We are a registered incorporated society.
We're in for a treat with our next public meeting: "My Battle on the Beat - Work, Life, Crohn's"
Becs Shaw (CCNZ ambassador will talk about her fascinating journey from diagnosis at Police College to becoming a Detective Constable, and all the hurdles in between.
Come early or stay afterwards for a cup of tea and chat. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
